A Vision for Brazil

What is our vision to see transformed lives and powerful churches?

Our vision is called Mission Multiplication and was created in a joint
effort between the missionaries and the national church leaders. The goal is to see each person disciple another and this person win another,
multiplying our disciples. We desire to see one small group grow and
multiply to form two groups and these groups win two more.

Each church will be expected to plant another church with the same vision to plant others. Each district will plant new districts in other States, multiplying our church planting efforts. Each district will branch out from the capital/target city and be responsible to capture their entire state for Christ. We will move from state to state until the Wesleyan Church is active and effective in every state of Brazil (There are 27 States in Brazil to win for Christ).

We hope to see the Wesleyan Church of Brazil multiplying itself by reaching other countries with the Gospel.

This is Mission Multiplication and focuses on Prayer, Evangelism,
Discipleship, Small Groups and Church Planting to accomplish our goals

What are our priorities and values?

We are committed to seeking new strategies to keep up with the Lord's pace and plans. One thing that we are testing in Manaus is to set up an
itinerant pastor to allow the work to grow faster, with less expense -
especially in the interior. Also we see the need to develop local
leadership at an accelerated rate.

We are committed to seeking the Lord's will together, Brazilian church and missionaries, to find out where He wants us to go next. We resolve to go through the doors that the Lord opens for us and the Brazilians might lead more in this area than the mission. Brazilians will accomplish many of these goals, these steps. If not, we will have failed.

We are committed to a Brazilian Wesleyan Church that worships, operates and grows as the Lord directs in its own culture. With this in mind the national church is revising The Discipline of the Wesleyan Church, making the necessary adaptations to work efficiently and effectively in the Brazilian culture while maintaining the true Wesleyan/holiness heritage.

How is this vision coming along? Has there been any progress yet?

Perhaps the best way to show the progress would be to use a timeline or bullet list. We began to implement this present vision about three years ago. Before that there was a dry period of about 10 years where there was no growth or churches planted. Then, at the same time that we began sharing this vision with the people, two incredible things happened . First, the Lord put into the heart of our Brazilian district superintendent, Pr. Edvaldo, to start a church in the neighboring state of Roraima. At the same time, the Lord was working in the heart of a lay person, Claudiomar, to begin in church in the new neighborhood that he had moved to - Monte Pascual. Thus began a series of miracles that led the Wesleyan Church of Brazil to where we are today.
